June 8, 2010 Primary Election
Candidates
Candidates interested in running for office
in the June 8, 2010 election may pick up nomination papers beginning February 16, 2010. Nomination papers must be filed in
the Office of the Registrar of Voters by 5:00 pm March 12, 2010. Offices in which an eligible incumbent does not file by the
March 12 deadline will have a 5-calendar-day extension period for filing nomination papers.

Recall of an Elected Official
You
may obtain the "Guide to Recall For County, School Districts, Special Districts and Local Judicial Offices" by calling
the Candidate and Public Services Division at (408) 299-8639. The guide is intended to provide basic, useful facts about the
recall process for elected officers of the county, a school district, a community college district and a special district
as well as elected judges of the Superior Court.
For recall of city officeholders, contact the City Clerk
of that city's office.
For recall of state officeholders, see the "Procedure for Recall of State and
Local Officials" published by the Office of the Secretary of State.
District Measures

The guide is intended to provide basic, useful facts about the processes of placing measures on the ballot and filing of Arguments
and Rebuttal Arguments. You may also obtain Argument and Rebuttal Argument forms by calling our office.

County Initiatives

This is a free service to
view candidate and committee FPPC financial information and to file electronic campaign statements. Elected officers, candidates
and committees for Santa Clara County are required to file FPPC campaign statements. All others may voluntarily file electronic
